You’ll never be asked to cold call or do sales unless you choose a client that requires it.
📞 What kind of work will I be doing?
You’ll be providing customer service for well-known brands in areas like:
- Billing inquiries
- Account management
- Tech support
- Data entry
- Product or service information
You’ll work from the comfort of your home, operating as your own micro-call center. 🙌
💬 Note: Most positions involve phone-based customer support. Non-phone opportunities are very limited and primarily reserved for existing agents. New applicants should be prepared for phone-based roles. Gaining experience here can open the door to more flexibility and different roles in the future.
🖥️ What equipment do I need?
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A quiet, distraction-free workspace
- A desktop or laptop computer (must be hard-wired — no Wi-Fi)
- High-speed internet
- A USB headset
Some clients may require a phone line, but most allow calls through your computer. All requirements will be listed in each client’s job description.
💸 What does it cost to get started?
This is a business opportunity — not a traditional job. You're building something for YOU, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Startup costs include:
- ✅ Background Check: $30–$75 (one-time, varies by client)
- ✅ Training: FREE (No upfront client training fees!)
Why a background check? You'll be handling sensitive customer data, and clients want to ensure their customers are in trustworthy hands — which you absolutely are!
❓ What’s the difference between joining Homesource Staffing vs. registering on your own?
Great question! You have two options:
1. Join Homesource Staffing (Recommended)
- Fast, easy setup
- We handle platform compliance and paperwork
- Full support and onboarding help
- No LLC or EIN needed
- Still a 1099 contractor — just with backup!
2. Register as Your Own Business
- Manage your own LLC, EIN, and compliance
- Complete the onboarding process solo
- No access to our support or resources
- More complex setup
🌟 Most people choose to join us so they can focus on getting certified and earning — while we take care of the back-end.
🎓 How does training work?
Training is 100% online and typically unpaid — but it’s your ticket to success! Think of it as a short-term investment in long-term flexibility and income.
- Classes are live, held Monday–Friday
- Choose morning, afternoon, or evening (based on availability)
- Daily class time ranges from 2–6 hours
- Attendance is mandatory to complete certification
⏱ Most certifications take 4–6 weeks. Some clients allow you to start taking calls and earning midway through the program — this is called “Earn While You Learn.” While not guaranteed, it’s a possibility with select clients and usually starts around week 2–3.
⏳ How soon can I start working and getting paid?
After your background check clears and you complete training, you’re ready to work!
- Certification typically takes 4–6 weeks
- Some agents begin earning before training ends (for clients with "Earn While You Learn")
- Your exact start date depends on the client and training calendar
🚀 You’ll be paid for any calls taken during certification.
💰 How and when will I get paid?
You’ll be paid twice per month, based on the following pay periods:
- 1st–15th of the month
- 16th–end of the month
Direct deposit is typically received 3–5 business days after the pay period ends — securely and reliably. No paper checks are issued.
📅 What is the fee structure?
We keep it simple and transparent:
- 5% Platform Usage Fee (charged by Arise)
- $35 Admin Fee per pay period — includes SOW tracking, tax documentation, compliance, consultations, and more
📃 Will I be responsible for my own taxes?
Yes — as an Independent Contractor (1099), you're responsible for your own taxes. Here's how it works:
- We don’t withhold any taxes
- You’ll receive a 1099-MISC if you earn $600 or more in a calendar year
- We recommend working with a tax professional for peace of mind
🌍 Do you accept agents outside the U.S.?
No — at this time, this opportunity is only open to residents of the United States. However, we cannot accept agents from the following states:

California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin
