📋 Harver Assessment Tips

Your Complete Guide to Acing the Harver Pre-Enrollment Assessment

Welcome to Homesource Staffing! 🎉 Before you can begin servicing clients, you’ll complete the Harver assessment in your Arise Portal. This guide explains what to expect and how to put your best foot forward.

🚹 Read This First: The Assessment Is Timed & Cannot Be Paused

  • Once you start, you must finish in one sitting.

  • Take it somewhere quiet with a strong, stable internet connection (hard-wire/Ethernet if possible).

  • Close extra tabs/apps, silence notifications, and plug in your laptop.

Where to find it: Log into the Arise Portal → Client Opportunities. The Harver Assessment is at the top of the page.

✅ Quick-Start Checklist (Do This Before You Click “Begin”)

  • Solid internet (preferably wired/Ethernet).

  • Computer plugged in; mouse ready.

  • Quiet space; phone on Do Not Disturb.

  • 40–60 minutes set aside (typical total time).

  • Take a deep breath—you’ve got this!

🧭 What Harver Measures

  • Analytical & problem-solving skills (logical reasoning)

  • Written communication basics (grammar)

  • Customer service mindset (situational & personality fit)

  • Scheduling preferences & experience areas

It’s less about “passing a test” and more about matching you with the right client programs.

đŸȘœ Step-by-Step: What You’ll See & How to Answer

1) Intro Video

A short overview to set expectations. Watch it fully.

2) Availability & Start Date

This section appears in two different ways—answer both strategically:

A. “When are you NOT available to work?”

  • You only need to select one time block to continue.

  • Choose a time you truly won’t want to work (e.g., Sunday, 12:00 AM–6:00 AM).

B. General availability / hours you can work

  • Select all availability options, even if you don’t plan to work every hour. This keeps more client opportunities open to you.

  • If asked “How quickly do you want to begin?” choose “As soon as possible.”

  • For “How does your schedule look?” select:

“Each day looks different. My schedule will change day by day and week by week.”

  • For weekly hours, choose “30+ hours.” (Shows flexibility—even if you’ll start part-time.)

3) Experience Areas (Check All That Apply)

Select everything you’re comfortable supporting, such as:

  • Roadside Assistance

  • General Customer Service Support

  • Home Services (Internet/Wi-Fi, Utilities, Cable/Streaming)

  • Finance & Insurance

Tip: You’re indicating where you can confidently communicate and problem-solve, not a lifetime rĂ©sumĂ©.

đŸ§© The Core Skill Sections

🎯 Logical Reasoning (≈7 minutes)

  • Expect pattern, sequence, or rule-based questions.

  • Read carefully; eliminate obvious wrong choices first.

  • No penalty for guessing—choose your best answer and move on.

✍ Grammar (≈5 minutes)

  • Focus on spelling, word choice, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation.

  • Re-read the sentence in your head. If it doesn’t “sound right,” revisit it.

🧍 Personality Print (≈7 minutes)

Present the traits that align with strong customer support:

  • Friendly, patient, and calm under pressure

  • Adaptable when things change

  • Organized & dependable (finish tasks on time)

  • Open to feedback; not defensive

  • Kind, team-oriented, and solutions-focused

Answering tip:

  • Use the middle/neutral option for items you’re genuinely neutral about.

  • Avoid extremes unless you strongly agree.

  • Emphasize kindness, reliability, adaptability, and service mindset.

💡 Pro Tips (Homesource Staffing)

  • This is a timed assessment and cannot be paused. Plan accordingly.

  • It focuses on analytical/problem-solving, so read carefully and take your time.

  • Select all availability options (you’re not committing to every hour—just keeping doors open).

  • If you don’t pass, there’s a 30–90 day waiting period before you can retake.

  • If anything glitches, document it immediately and contact Technical Support via AVA in the Arise Portal.

🛠 If You Have Technical Issues

  • Go to AVA (the virtual assistant) at the bottom of the Arise Portal → Technical Support.

  • They can remote into your system to diagnose issues and it documents your interaction.

📌 After You Finish

Understanding Your Results
Here’s what your Harver outcome may show and what each one means:
✔ Available Classes – You passed! You can now view and enroll in open client opportunities.
✔ Best Match (No Opportunities Yet) – You passed, but there are no available classes at the moment. Check the portal frequently, as new options post often.

❗ Retake Date Provided

If a future retake date is displayed, the assessment wasn’t passed. You'll need to wait until that date before taking the assessment again.
